*credit cards*

Credit Cards are a tricky business. They’re a great tool for the financially savvy. However, they can also quickly become a trap. Interest rates and credit card fees can drive credit card debt through the roof.

If you are planning to sign up for a credit card, there are several important points to consider. First, you don’t need more than one or two credit cards. I get credit card offers in the mail on a daily basis, but I run all of them through the shredder. Second, read the fine print before you sign up for a credit card. Choose a credit card that will give you rewards (such as cash back or points to spend in a rewards program) and that will not charge excessive fees. Third, don’t spend more than you can pay. Pay off your credit cards every month. Not only will you be given a higher credit limit, but your credit rating will improve.
