the bare truth

Yes, I'm sorry I haven't updated in several days. But you would not believe everything that has happened in my life. Even after I tell you... you still might not believe everything that has happened.

I got the shoes I needed on ebay. And I got a whole lot of other stuff. I got a yellow fever immunization and a meningitis immunization. I wrote my support letter (though I still need to send it). I began to make plans to join the Africa Mercy in Newcastle in November or December. I applied to substitute at one school district and one private school for the first semester.

Then, on Aug. 18/19 (can you believe that? just four days ago!) I got an email from my principal on the ships. Since the Africa Mercy will not be finished as soon as it was scheduled, the Anastasis is filling in for the Africa Mercy in Ghana. And the Academy has opened on the Anastasis. Furthermore, they need a high school English teacher. Soon.

So now? I am going to be leaving in the 3rd or 4th week of September. I'm still a little awed by it all. For eight months, so little happened in my life. I mean, stuff happened - but it all seemed to be at a standstill. And now, in four days, God has done more than He did in eight whole months. Whoa.

For awhile, my posts on this blog will be pretty minimal. No more mood faces for awhile. Sorry about the lack of photos but - shucks, that's how it's going to be. I have a lot of work to do in a very short amount of time. I'd also like to finish another template for this blog before I leave. But I will be back at least once before I leave.
