L.A. Car Donation

My first car was a 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity. Now keep in mind, I received this car in 1999, so it wasn’t exactly a new car! My family had owned that car for years, and it had survived my father, my mother, and my older sister. By the time I got it, it had 120,000 miles and very little of the original paint. However, all the parts under the hood were still fantastic! I drove it for another 10,000 miles before I left for college.

When I left for college, I knew I needed a more reliable car. I bought a new car, and instead of selling the old car, I donated it to the Salvation Army. They operate a fantastic homeless shelter in our area, and I knew they could use either the car or the money from selling the car for its parts.

If you have an old car, and you’re thinking about getting a new one, donating your old car is a great way to get rid of it. Donations are usually tax-deductible, and your car can help an organization by giving them either transportation or money from the sale of the car.
