Can you imagine a world without car insurance companies? Anyone who has ever been through an accident with an uninsured motorist will tell you just what a nightmare it is. Now, I've communicated with a handful of really awful insurance companies, but their awfulness is nothing compared to a world with no insurance whatsoever. What a catastrophe that would be! It really makes you understand why we are required to have insurance.

moving pods

moving pods make a lot of sense to me. Especially when you are moving over a long distance, it is one easy way to get all your stuff packed up and moved. The other option is to hire a moving truck, which may or may not be financially possible. Plus with a moving truck, you have to pay for the price of gasoline, since they are not exactly known for their gas mileage. It's quite an investment!

weight loss

I’m getting really tired of my whole weight battle. I guess I wouldn’t call it a weight battle, exactly… I mean, I only weigh myself every six months or so, and it’s not like I’m taking alli or anything. But the swimming was going so well. I was feeling stronger and healthier, sleeping better, and just feeling better all around. Now that I’ve picked up this other job, I hardly ever have a chance to swim. If I was able to get up at 5 or 5:30am, then I would be able to swim… but I am a night owl and just not able to get myself to bed early enough for that!

new york

Anyone moving to New York City soon? You should look into Manhattan jobs. I've never been to New York but I'd love to visit, or maybe even live there. I know I am a city girl, and I've really enjoyed visits to other big cities (like London, Hong Kong, Beijing, etc.). So I'm sure I would have lots of fun visiting New York City as well.

watches

I am so picky about my watches. I think it's in the blood- my family has a slight obsession with time pieces. I have a number of requirements for my watch. First of all, I refuse to buy any expensive watches, like Movado watches or anything you'd find under glass. I am just that cheap. It has to be digital, waterproof, with a date display, and with the seconds also on the display. If it does not meet ALL of these requirements, I won't buy it. How crazy is that?

hat

Yesterday I had a student in my class who got in big trouble because he was wearing a hat. He was trying to skirt the rules and get away with wearing this hat, even though hats are against the rules all the time. It was kind of a ski cap thing, except it didn't cover the face. Know what I'm talking about? Those are the hats that will always give you really bad hat hair, worse than almost any other hat.
