stronger and faster

It's hard to believe I'm saying this, but running is fun.

Yea, it's hard to get excited sometimes, or to keep my head in the game, so to speak. But I'm already debating ways to improve my pace for a 5k in October. (since my last run was 4 miles, and my next run is 5k, I have to focus on pace, not time.) I'm focusing more on wellness and researching some of the "old wives tales" about things that supposedly make you stronger or faster (like oregano oil or bio d-mulsion). Not sure I buy into all of that, but I would really enjoy a better time and you know what they say- knowledge is power!

losing weight

Running has been hard, but I am glad that it is having such positive effects on my body. Stronger muscles, losing weight, and so forth. The last thing I want is to feel like I'm forced to read phentermine reviews here or (worse yet) actually take diet pills. Diet pills are all well and good for people who really need them, but not for me!

vacation

The past few days have been sooo busy. Productive, but busy. I love to feel productive like this, but after several busy/productive days, I feel like I need to go someplace relaxing, like to the Corolla vacation rentals. That would sure be nice. I love to travel to see new places and learn new things, but someday I'd like to travel to a resort or vacation rental, just so that I can get spoiled for a few days. Massages, facials, the whole nine yards! Unfortunately those types of vacations are particularly expensive, and probably outside my budget for a long time. But I can dream!

blackheads

I am almost out of my face wash (generic-brand neutrogena stuff), which I'm kinda glad about. This type of face wash is supposed to prevent acne and remove blackheads and so forth, but it hasn't worked too well. I will switch back to an old brand that seemed to work better. Hopefully it will help clear up my skin better than this stuff!

running and weight loss

Becoming a runner has made me aware of a whole new segment of the population that wants to lose weight, in some cases needs to lose weight, but often isn't willing to do the work necessary to lose the weight. They cruise the internet, looking for some kind of magic Extreme diet pills, and basically try to find an easy way to lose weight. I can honestly say that running is NOT easy, BUT it works!

prescription diet pills

I heard this week that the FDA is considering taking a prescription diet pill off the market. Supposedly it's among the most effective diet pills, but also increases the risk of heart attack. It's a little sad. First, I suspect that a large number of people who need to lose weight don't need prescription meds- they're just lazy. But second, for the people who do need prescription assistance, it's too bad that they're loosing one of the options.

mountains and satellites

I have a friend who bought a cabin in the Colorado mountains. I think that's totally awesome. The only thing I don't like about living in the mountains is that, in order to have ANY cell phone, internet, or television reception, you HAVE to install a local tv satellite. I am so cheap, I would HATE to pay for that. I mean, there are good deals available online (especially at localtv-satellite.com), and if you have to get it you have to get it. But it just irks me to have to pay for it! even if it's a cheap deal from www.localtv-satellite.com!

advertising

I'm totally pleased with the place where my business has been in the past few months. I'm not earning a million dollars (yet!) but I'm making big strides towards it. It won't be too much longer before I'll need to hire an advertising agency to promote myself and my skills. Which will be totally awesome- I mean, what ego trip!

Of course I'll have to find a good advertising agency. Not one of the kinds that makes mistakes in translation. Like the Coca Cola ad campaign in China, which translated Coca Cola as "bite the wax tadpole". Or the Pepsi Cola ad campaign in China, which translated "Pepsi Cola gives you zest for life" as "Pepsi Cola brings your ancestors back from the dead". Of course this list goes on and on. It's amazing how many of these advertising mistakes have occurred even when our world is "getting smaller", so to speak, and it's so much easier to get a quality translator.

But, in all seriousness, an advertising agency will be so helpful in creating ad campaigns of all types. From internet marketing and social media to old-school newspaper ads or billboards or who knows what else! Plus they are very helpful for figuring out how much you can afford to spend and create the maximum impact ad campaign without going outside your budget.

It's all about public relations. You have to have good advertising that gives your "brand" a positive image. Bad public relations can kill your brand, or at least cause enough damage to give you many hurdles to overcome. That can potentially mean many years and lots of money spent just to get you out of that negative image! Definitely not worth it!

scrubs

I am thinking about investing in some doctors scrubs type clothes, just because they are so comfortable. They'd be good for lounging around the house. Nurse uniforms and supplies are actually just fantastically comfortable uniforms to wear to work. That would be a nice job perk.

But of course, I would have to find a place where I can buy wholesale scrubs really cheap. I'm too cheap to spend lots of money on clothes for lounging around the house. Thank goodness the internet makes that possible.

I need to look into my finances though. There are several things I'd like to invest in right now and I don't have enough money for all of them. I'll figure it out. This is a good place to be.
