belly fat

Like many people, I have the luck to hold a lot of weight around my midsection. It would be so nice if there was a magic way to just burn belly fat, even though I know there really isn't. It is just as well, because when you lose weight, there are other parts of your body that "proportionally" lose weight as well. If you just lost all the weight from one area of the body, I think we forget that we'd look quite odd.

acne

Would you believe that at the age of 26 I still need acne treatment? It's ridiculous- in a way it is almost worse than when I was a teen. I have tried a lot of different over the counter products, but I've found that the best acne treatment I've ever found is just swimming. First of all it is good to be healthy, but also, the chlorine in the pool dries out my skin in a way that works wonderfully to prevent acne.

eating

Eating is such a hard habit to break. :-) Seriously, it is hard to train yourself to eat the amount of food that is healthy, and no more than that. Smaller portion sizes are a good thing, and even some prescription drugs that treat obesity act as an appetite suppressant. But even with those it is hard! You need a lot of incentive to push yourself to succeed!

diet pills

The more I exercise, the more I understand the allure of diet pills. Losing weight is HARD! Even more than that, it is so easy to obsess every day over weight. Weight varies SO much- you gain or lose weight based on fluids as well as foods, as much as five or ten pounds each day. So it can seem like you've gained five pounds since yesterday, when in fact you just drank a lot of water today. And it can drive you crazy!

cold weather

I can't believe how cold it is getting outside! I am NOT a fan of cold weather. I like warm weather, spending time outside, enjoying the sun. But instead I am digging out the patio furniture covers, socks, heavy clothes, and blankets, and counting the days until summer arrives again! It makes me miss the days when I lived near the Equator, where it was always warm!

mesothelioma

There is a woman who used to go to my church who had malignant Mesothelioma. It was hard for her- I mean, she was on oxygen all the time, and just physically not in the best of shape. But she was such a sweetheart- I kinda miss her. It would do us well if we could be people more like her.

miami

I was watching CSI: Miami the other night and thinking I would really like to visit there. I know that I wouldn't see David Caruso or any of the other actors, and frankly I don't really care, I'm not THAT big of a fan of the show. But it would be neat to shop around among the different miami packages and visit miami, just for the sun and the sand and the warmth.
