acne

I found yet another new acne medicine, pronexin, today. Of course they have advertisements with miraculous before and after pictures. I am naturally a skeptic of "miraculous" results like these. It looks like a much less processed acne cream, which may be good or maybe not. I have heard of natural substances (like tea tree oil) that have acne-reducing properties. As for this medicine- if it doesn't cost too much, it may be worth a try.

weight loss

The hardest part of weight loss is definitely portion control. It is so, so hard to change your eating habits, and so, so easy to eat more than you intend to eat. Plus it is so hard to not eat food that is sugary or high in carbs less often. If only it was easier! then we wouldn't all be struggling with weight and we wouldn't have this obesity problem in our country!

hemorrhoids

No one in my family has hemorrhoids, so we've never had to pursue natural hemorrhoid treatment. That's good, because from what I've heard, hemorrhoids are a pretty irritating problem- literally. I mean, that is one region of the human body where NO ONE wants to have itching or irritation! It's so awkward and socially unacceptable, not to mention covered in germs and bacteria.

dark circles

I'm so glad I've never had to deal with significant dark circles under eyes. If I get really, REALLY sleep deprived, I'll have a little of that, but nothing significant. I'm glad just because it is one less thing I have to deal with. I've never been a fan of makeup- most days I don't wear it. And I'm glad I don't "need" to wear it!

exercise

I sure wish there were fast fat burners in existence. I have spent so much time at the gym, exercised so much, and for all my work I haven't lost a single pound. I guess it would be more honest to say, my weight swings around a lot within about a ten-pound range, the same range where I started. Of course it doesn't help that I tend to weigh myself at different times of the day, but still... it is so, so tiring to work so hard with so little to show for it.

acne

I am happy to report that it looks like I am FINALLY winning my war on acne. I alternate swimming with an OTC salcylic acid acne medicine. On the days I don't swim, I use the medicine; on the days I swim, I don't treat my face. If I swim AND use the medicine, it dries out my skin too much; if I use neither, my skin is too oily. But I think I've found the mix that is "just right".

design

I have been designing left and right lately. I am doing a lot of design work for my church, which is especially frustrating because it feels like EVERY sunday, someone feels the need to tell me what I need to change. Plus there's always more design to do- design this, design that. Custom bookmarks, custom website, custom logo- sheesh, I wouldn't be surprised if they ask me to design custom hats or custom t-shirts. Non designers are such a pain.

branson

I think I live just close enough that I don't need a fancy Branson vacation package to visit Branson. Though it would be nice... it would be a lot of fun to get a nice vacation and get away from it all. Some days, what I wouldn't give for that- to just sleep and have no worries. Even if that kind of utopia doesn't really exist, it would be nice to pretend for awhile!

tobacco

After all the things we know about nicotine and tobacco, I'm honestly surprised that people still smoke, or start smoking, or even smoke something lighter (like tatuaje cigars). As if that isn't going to harm them. Smoking in any form is not good, and "light" cigars or cigarettes are no exception. Stick with candy, or diet soda, or some other vice that at the very least won't make your clothes stink.

asbestos

I get annoyed by all the legal commercials that populate daytime television. There's always some crazy desperate lawyer offering to get money for one crazy suffering or another. I think my favorite line is from the commercial that says, "Do you have asbestos cancer? Even if you don't know when or where you were exposed to asbestos, we'll get you money!" Yea right. Gimme a break.

wedding cake toppers

Shopping for wedding cake toppers is, in my opinion, HILARIOUS. I know most people want the traditional (read: BORING) topper, with a groom and bride holding hands and just standing there. But I like the ones that have a bride pulling the groom to the altar, or some other form of hilarity. Who cares about tradition- weddings should be FUN!!

diet pills

I don't have to read many href="http://www.weightlossdietpills.com/products/noxycut/">noxycut
reviews
to know I don't want to use it. It's just one more of those crazy diet drugs that they advertise with photoshopped "before" and "after" images of people who "allegedly" lost a phenomenal amount of weight using this product. It's just too good to be true, or to use another bad idiom, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

acne

I'm a bit surprised by it, but I'm having another breakout. Previously when I swam regularly, the chlorine in the pool did a pretty good job of keeping my skin clear. But lately I'm thinking I need to try some OTC salcylic acid adult acne
treatments
to clear my skin. Sheesh, I'm going on my 27th birthday and still dealing with this. I guess if this is the worst problem I have, my life isn't too bad.

organic surprises

Yesterday, I was researching for a book that I'm writing when to my surprised, I stumbled on a subpage of http://www.yousaytoo.com. This particular page was about a tribe of cave-dwellers living in China. I was already familiar with the website, since I've worked with them before, but I was quite surprised to come across it in an organic search.

Anyway, YST is, on the surface, a revenue sharing site. But I've found that it's also sort of a massive database. You can find information about gaming or international news- or cave-dwellers living in China. Lots of their information is presented in the form of blogs, but in the end, it's all just that- information!

nascar

I am not a sports person. Never have been, probably never will be. I am not the kind of person who enjoys watching sports games. But I really don't understand Nascar. I don't even see how it is a real sport- I mean, driving a car is not a workout. How is that a sport? And even more, why would you want to dress up in fancy Nascar jackets and stuff? What do they do? I just don't get it...

pdas

It seems that nowadays, very few companies continue to produce strict PDAs. My father used a Palm Pilot for years, but when his last palm gave in a few months ago, he couldn't find anything comparable to replace it. Instead, nowadays companies are incorporating PDA functions into smartphones. Not sure how I feel about that. I mean, I have a blackberry and I love it, but honestly... it seems there is enough demand for both products.

faucets

I am sooo tired of remodeling bathrooms. To some extent we have redone every bathroom in our house, plus we've redone the bathrooms at church. I am proud of the work we've done- the bathrooms all look beautiful. Fresh coats of paint, new flooring, Grohe faucets, new plumbing, you name it- I just hope we don't have to do it again soon, because it was a LOT of work to do it all the first time!
