digital therapy

I saw a fascinating story on the news awhile back about a new form of therapy for autistic kids. Actually it is a very old form of therapy, but presented in a new way. They use television to provide therapy- like some kind of shrink tube- for a very, very low price. It's neat that they are using technology to do these things- I mean, it is so good that in this case technology is lowering the price and providing opportunity to the masses.

wii

We don't have a Wii, but I've gotten to play with it at a friend's house. It's pretty clever, what technology can do. Of course it's no replacement for going outside and actually exercising, but it's pretty fun to play sports with a wii, and a good substitute when the weather is bad or when it's not possible to go outside. It's also pretty handy when you want to play a sport but do not have an opponent or teammate!

coffee makers

I found some neato coffee makers on the internet... too bad I don't drink coffee! Sometimes I wonder if I should, though- it would be nice to have a quick way to get all that caffeine! Yea, I know it's not good. What can I say. Oh well, it's probably good that I don't drink coffee- my teeth have enough trouble from soda. I can't imagine how stained they would get from coffee.

teaching

One thing I've discovered about myself is that, although I hate teaching, I love tutoring. Especially when you're tutoring a kid who wants to learn the information. One of the only "teaching" jobs I think I would actually like would be teaching something like an LSAT prep class or another class where the students are highly motivated. That just makes it so much easier and more enjoyable to teach!

ants!

We had such trouble with ants last summer. They are gone for now, but I am afraid that they will return when the winter is over. I'm not sure what else we can do to get rid of them. I'm afraid we will have to tear out the sink to find where the ants are getting in, and then of course we will have to replace it with something like an American Standard sink. Homeownership can be so frustrating sometimes!
