Family gatherings

We just finished a big family gathering, which was tons of fun but also exhausting! A few of my cousins own a pretty large farm in Nebraska, and they hosted an evening barbecue there. They opened up the barn and pulled out several folding tables and picnic tables and even a couple of picnic tables for kids, and served burgers and hot dogs, buffet style. It was hot as blazes from this recent heat wave, but still a lot of fun!

Music

One of the many things I love about my current church is the willingness of the other church members to volunteer. I know it sounds strange, but it's a relief to not be the only person responsible for pulling off a worship service. There are other people who can do the music stuff, like buying a roland spd-sx. That's probably a good thing, since I'm not very musically inclined!

Traveling

I love traveling, especially by airplane. I'm a bit quirky and I just love the energy of airports and airplanes. Everything sold in airports is overpriced and gimmicky- like, silly bags or tshirts labeled with a logo for the city, or (overpriced) travel accessories like neck pillows. But there's also just a certain ambiance in airports. In an airport, it's like you can reach out and touch the entire world. Nothing separates you from (most of) the world. Amazing.

Sports

I'm not a sports person, but I have friends who are, and I've looked into several different kinds of sports gifts for them. Most of my friends are into basketball or baseball, which coincidentally are also the sports I happen to understand the most. I know a little bit about football, and I know a tiny bit about most of the Olympic sports. I actually know a lot about track and endurance running. But some sports- I would be just hopeless trying to find hockey gifts or rugby gifts or any of those other sports!

Pandora jewelry

A few years back, my mom gave my sister and I necklaces made with pandora beads. I have to admit that I am not a jewelry person. Since I work from home, I rarely get dressed up for anything. But I can see the value of pandora beads, or pandora jewelry in general, maybe especially since I don't wear jewelry often. It's so much easier to have at least a little bit of "variety", because I can easily change the beads.
