parentage and paternity

I read a story this morning about a rapist who is requesting visitation for the baby he fathered during the attack. Quite unbelievable. My heart certainly goes out to the victim. I certainly hope that the courts will use the information from the court approved dna test to force the attacker to pay restitution and NOT allow him visitation with the child.

carpet

I think before too long I'm going to need to steam clean my carpets, or else hire a service like carpet cleaning raleigh. I've never hired a service before, though, because I've always had great success by just renting a carpet cleaning machine from a nearby rental business and doing the cleaning myself. It is hard work and very physical labor, which I suppose is why some people hire a service to do it for them!

music equipment

Tomorrow night my dad will be going to rehearsal for Sunday's service at our church. He helps out with the sound system once a month. I'm incredibly thankful that he has this opportunity. He enjoys operating sound systems, and working with our church gives him a chance to work with high end microphones and other equipment we could never afford on our own!

digital media

I was reading an interesting article this week about the heredity of digital media, like things bought at online music stores or online bookstores. Since that doesn't exist in a physical sense, you can't bequeath them to your heirs when you die, unlike if you own the physical CD or book. It's an interesting thought... we don't often consider the differences between physical media and digital media, but they are more significant than we think!

gifts gifts gifts

Seems like I've been buying a lot of gifts lately! I have no real complaints about it, but over the summer I've had a lot of friends getting married, having babies, and other gift-worth occasions. It's challenging to find unique and personal gifts for each person that are appropriate for their event (like finding a gift for dance recital!). But it's worth it for the opportunity to be a part of other peoples' lives!!
